Many people believe that writers and a sedentary lifestyle do not have any negative effects on their health. This is purely a misconception, especially if the workload of an individual far exceeds their normal resting hours.

Writers and authors in a sedentary lifestyle are prone to health-related problems that do not show their symptoms until it is too late.

Lack Of Exercise

Writers tend to spend a lot of their time sitting down making articles, novels, or books without paying too much attention on their health.

In fact, this is practically one of the reasons why writers and a sedentary lifestyle don’t mix. Since they spend a lot of their time rooted in one spot, they definitely need to move around a bit to get the circulation back in their system.

Considering that these individuals lack sleep and is practically devoid of any strenuous activities during these projects, it is very important that they cut some slack and free some of their time to protect their investment.

Health Tips

It is important that these individuals should go out of their nest and learn to have fun once in a while. This will allow them to refresh their thoughts by looking at something new, instead of pouring all their attention on their projects.

Also, it is also advisable that they go to the gym to keep their body in top shape, as well as implement a proper diet to replenish the nutrients needed by the body to survive

Writers and authors in a sedentary lifestyle may suffer health problems later in their life if they choose not to keep track of their health.

Aside from getting projects done on time, it is a requirement to keep their bodies in shape so that they can continue their tasks without having aches and pains cropping up from time to time.

Want to earn a 5-figure monthly income through freelance writing jobs? Go to http://www.20daypersuasion.com/5figurewriter.htm and discover how to earn massive amounts of money by becoming a freelance writer.

To Kindle or not to Kindle, that may be your question.

I didn’t jump on Amazon’s Kindle bandwagon when it was first released. To be honest, I thought the price was a little steep, and I wasn’t sure I was ready for an electronic reader–even though I’ve read electronic texts on my PDA for years.

But after using the Kindle for two months now, I’m ready to give it a two thumbs up. Here’s my Top 10 list of what I like most (You’ll find my Top 5 list of what I like least at the end of this review).

I have a huge selection of books to choose from: 160,000 books and top newspapers.

I can buy a book and get instant delivery via Amazon’s Whispernet wireless network (no additional cost). What a great feature when stuck in an airport or doctor’s office!

I can change the size of the text (a plus as one’s eyes age)

If I add an inexpensive SD memory storage card, my storage capability is limitless. (One of my friends stores all of her Terry Pratchett novels on one card, all of her Hillerman’s on another).

I can easily jump from one book to another (I’m one of those people who have several books going at the same time).

When I return to a book I was reading, the Kindle remembers where I left off (an electronic dog-ear!)

I can add electronic bookmarks, margin notes and highlights to any page.

I can add audio files and create my own background music if I’m in the mood.

Most NY Times bestsellers and just released hardback titles are $9.99 in Kindle version, compared to $29.95 in hard copy.

Long battery life. If I turn off the wireless switch, I can read for about a week before recharging the battery.

What don’t I like about the Kindle?

Grayscale display. I’ll love it when Kindle comes out in a color version. But what am I thinking! - my books are in shades of gray, not color! (Computers have spoiled us)

I want a touchscreen instead of Previous Page, Next Page buttons.

The price has already come down - - a good thing. But clearly out of some folks’ range.

Because of button placement, I tend to keep hitting the Next Page button when popping the Kindle into its cover (cover comes free with the Kindle).

Wireless network is occasionally slow. Again, I’m spoiled.

Would I encourage people to buy a Kindle? I already have. The pluses outweigh the minuses for me - particularly since I can easily pop the Kindle into my purse and know that when I’m trapped in an office or waiting room or airport or . . . I always have something good to read. And if I don’t, I can just turn on the wireless button and download something new.

Check out the Kindle today and see what you think.

I picked up Sway: The Irrestible Pull of Irrational Behavior yesterday in Kindle format, and couldn’t put it down. This newly released business book by Ori and Rom Brafman, is a fascinating look into human behavior, specifically, what makes people act irrationally?

The Brafman brothers—Ari the business expert, and Rom the psychologist—examine what drives people to undermine rational action. Their findings range from our desire to avoid loss to our reluctance to alter a plan that isn’t working.

The book is filled with real-life examples, including the crash of a KLM jet into a Pan Am jet on the island of Tenerife, Lyndon B. Johnson and George W. Bush decisions to enmesh the U.S. in unwinnable positions in Vietnam and Iraq, and coach Steve Spurrier and his Gators football team who won year after year because their opponents were stuck in an old style of football play that they (irrationally) couldn’t alter.

This one had me hooked from page one–a definite “must read” for anyone who enjoyed The Tipping Point, and Blink.
